Looking for a therapist who gets you?

Are you feeling held back by past traumas or reactive patterns that prevent you from experiencing the fullness of life? You deserve a space where all parts of your identity are supported. Many of our clients seek therapy to heal from trauma, break cycles of insecure attachment, or navigate complex relationship dynamics. At Expansive Counseling, we offer a safe, nonjudgmental environment to help you reconnect with your true self and build the life and relationships you desire.

Whether you’re exploring complex relationship dynamics, healing from past trauma, or seeking support for your LGBTQ+, kink, or non-monogamous identity, you deserve a space where all of you is welcome.

Who We Serve

LGBTQ+ Individuals seeking a space where their identity is celebrated, not merely tolerated. Whether you're exploring gender identity, processing coming out experiences, or navigating relationships, we provide affirming support without judgment.

Polyamorous and Non-Monogamous People looking for a therapist who understands the nuances of multiple-partner relationships. We support individuals, couples, and polycules in building healthy relationship structures beyond traditional monogamy.

Kink-Positive Clients who deserve a sex-positive environment where their preferences and practices are respected. Our approach never pathologizes consensual adult sexuality.

Trauma Survivors working to heal from past wounds, including religious trauma, sexual trauma, or attachment injuries. Our trauma-informed approach helps you reconnect with your body and reclaim your sense of safety.

Individuals with Attachment Wounds seeking to break cycles of insecure attachment and develop healthier relationship patterns. We help you understand your attachment style and build more secure connections.

Whether you're seeking individual therapy, relationship counseling, or group support, we create a space where all parts of your identity are welcome. Our clients appreciate that they never have to edit themselves or educate their therapist on the basics of their lived experience.

Our Approach

At Expansive Counseling, we believe effective therapy begins with genuine acceptance. Our approach combines evidence-based techniques with a deep commitment to honoring your full identity and lived experience.

We specialize in trauma-informed, culturally competent therapy for clients across the gender, sexuality, and relationship spectrum. If you’re tired of feeling misunderstood by traditional therapists or navigating spaces that don’t fully embrace your identity, our team is here to support you.

Identity-Affirming Care

We recognize that your identity is foundational to who you are. Our therapy creates a space where every aspect of your authentic self is welcomed and celebrated. We understand the impact of societal biases—including homophobia, transphobia, and heteronormativity—and work with you to navigate these challenges while building resilience and self-acceptance.

Trauma-Informed Practice

Our trauma-informed approach acknowledges that many clients come to therapy with experiences that have shaped their nervous system and relationship patterns. We integrate somatic techniques to help you:

  • Recognize how trauma manifests in your body

  • Develop skills to regulate your nervous system

  • Process difficult experiences at your own pace

  • Transform reactive patterns into thoughtful responses

Whole-Person Healing

Rather than focusing narrowly on symptoms, we explore the interconnections between your past experiences, current relationships, and future aspirations. Using a blend of somatic parts work, attachment theory, and mindfulness practices, we help you develop a compassionate relationship with all aspects of yourself.

Collaborative Partnership

We view therapy as a collaborative journey where you are the expert on your own experience. Our role is to provide guidance, tools, and support while honoring your autonomy and wisdom. Each treatment plan is customized to reflect your unique goals, values, and circumstances.

Ongoing Growth

We stay current with emerging research and best practices in providing care for LGBTQ+ individuals, non-monogamous relationships, and other marginalized identities. Our commitment to continuous learning ensures you receive care that reflects the latest understanding in mental health and identity-affirming practices.

In every session, whether in our Winter Park office or through secure online therapy throughout Florida, we create a space where healing is possible and your full humanity is honored.

Services

A typical session is 55-minutes in length and can be provided weekly or biweekly depending on your schedule.

We offer both in-person and online sessions. If seeking Telehealth, you must be located in the state of Florida at the time of service.

Individual Therapy

Individual therapy involves one-on-one time between a client and therapist. This is a 55 minute session in which we will work together to help you meet your goals. While there are many different therapeutic orientations that may occur in individual therapy, I focus primarily on behavioral approaches.

Couples and Multi-Partner Relationship Therapy

Relationship therapy involves therapeutic work with two or more individuals who are in a relationship together. This is a 55 minute session in which we will work together to help you meet your shared goals. This may look like working on communication skills, developing an understanding of the way your attachment styles and trauma history are impacting your relationships, navigating a transition into non-monogamy, and other topics related to your continued relationship health.

Group Therapy & Psychoeducational Groups

I offer support groups and education designed to help you improve your mental wellness and learn new skills. Groups are a great way to receive feedback and practice new styles of interaction. This may be a cost effective option for those wishing to supplement individual services.

Price varies; private pay only.
