Rates and Insurance

What are your rates per session?

Our therapists charge different rates based on their level of experience. These are our out-of-network rates (cost if you are not using insurance).

Serena (LMHC): $150 for a 55 minute individual session and $175 for a 55 minute relationship session. Does not offer sliding scale rates at this time.

Emily (registered intern): $100 for a 55 minute individual session and $120 for a 55 minute relationship session. Sliding scale rates available.

Brooke (student intern): $80 for a 55 minute individual session and $100 for a 55 minute relationship session. Sliding scale rates available.

Do you take insurance?

Yes, we take several forms of insurance. We are credentialed differently based on our level of experience and individual contracts.

Serena is in network with BCBS, Aetna, United, Oscar, UMR, Carelon Behavioral Health, and Optum. Serena is a provider within the VA Community Care Network. Serena does not accept insurance for relationship counseling at this time.

Emily is in network with Cigna, Aetna, BCBS, Humana, and Tricare.

Brooke is unable to take insurance at this time but offers a generous sliding scale.

What if you don’t accept my insurance?

If your insurance plan isn’t one we’re in network with, we will charge the out of pocket rate. Then, if you’d still like to use you insurance, you’ll have a couple options:

Option 1 - We provide you with a superbill to send directly to your insurance company for reimbursement. Many clients submit claims on their own on a regular basis without issue.

Option 2 - We can help you submit claims for reimbursement. We've partnered with Mentaya, a service that streamlines getting reimbursed for your therapy sessions with out-of-network benefits. Mentaya may be a good option if you have out of network benefits and/or feel overwhelmed by the concept of superbills and insurance.

Here's how it works:

1. Sign up for Mentaya: https://mentaya.com/inviteclient/lVqEkh0neRTvuH0C3DfY

2. Our practice will enter your sessions into the platform.

3. Mentaya submits the claim and handles any insurance follow-up.

4. You get reimbursed by insurance!

Mentaya charges a 5% fee per claim, which includes handling any paperwork required, dealing with potential denials, and calling insurance companies. They guarantee claims are successfully submitted, or a full refund of their fees.

Note: Mentaya's goal is to save you time and money. It's completely optional, and we do not benefit in any way from your participation.

What is your cancelation policy?

Please provide at least 24 hours notice when canceling a session. If sessions are canceled within 24 hours or the client no shows, we reserve the right to charge a $100 fee for the hour. Please note this fee may be higher than your insurance copay. This is because insurance does not reimburse for canceled sessions or no shows.

If you are traveling, ill, or otherwise can’t make it to an in-person session, teletherapy may also be an option. If you are not able to attend or find a mutual time to reschedule the session, you are responsible for the full fee. Payment is due at the time of your regularly scheduled session.
